Foundation Years

Foundation Years

A foundation year is designed to prepare you for a medical degree, they can be standalone or integrated.

Who are they for?

Foundation years can be used if you have a good academic background, but not a huge amount of science education, or they can be for individuals who don't meet the entry requirements for the standard 5-year course. Often widening participation criteria need to be met to be eligible to apply.
